Juan Manuel Chavez started in Prestolite as a Product Design Engineer (Alternators and Starter Motors). Joined GCI Group in 1985 as Manufacturing and Quality Manager; responsible of the Design and the fabrication of S10 (small trucks) body shop assembly; design of new products and new applications finishing as Operation Manager. In 1991 moved to San Luis Potosi, Mexico, to implement and develop the production lines to assemble alternators and starters for DELCO as Projects Director, Engineering and Quality Director and Operation Director taking the responsibility of the operations of the Joint Venture with Valeo Wipers and Delco Remy. In 2000 he was assigned to Manufacturas GCI as a Plant Manager and the responsibility to support the Operations of two facilities in USA with new projects, productivity, quality and lean manufacturing. In 2005 moved to Remy Remanufacturing as a Plant Manager, in SLP and other 2 plants in Mexico, achieving great savings in projects, new projects, training and implementation of lean manufacturing. Since 2009 he is training and implementing lean manufacturing (TPS) as a Senior Consultant in Mexico for UASLP, Universidad Politécnica, Industrial Engineers College in Zacatecas, Pumps Grundfos, Caterpillar, Faurecia, Cummins, among other major customers.
