This success story is about a holistic transformation of IDEAL Fensterbau Weinstock – a medium-sized, owner-managed company in the process industry. In this context, the company was examined and accompanied by Staufen in terms of strategy, processes and day-to-day management. To this end, an interdisciplinary or multifunctional project approach forms the basis for generating a comprehensive understanding of the company in order to identify and implement the right levers with the greatest potential for improvement. This success story describes how excellent results can be achieved through holistic transformation by establishing excellent processes and excellent leadership.

The collapse of oil prices at the end of 2014 had very negative repercussions on the level of sales of Centravis worldwide (33 %). Due to the important investments realized to modernize the production facility from 2006 to 2009 and the high amount of debt accordingly, the company found itself in a difficult negative cash flow situation.

Punker GmbH has been producing fan wheels of all sizes in steel and aluminum in northern Schleswig-Holstein on the Baltic Sea since 1954. The company generates a turnover of €43 million. Its approximately 1,000 customers come from a variety of different sectors – from air conditioning and household appliance to railway technology industries. The number of variants is correspondingly high and the batch sizes vary just as much.

The Italian management contracted Staufen AG as an experienced consultant in the manufacturing industry. Staufen was asked to take a close look at the company as a whole, identify the reasons why it was in such economic crisis and draw up a business plan to successfully re-align the company.
